Mind Lab

Twenty minutes every school day to think big, believe in themselves, and stretch their imagination.

What it is

Five fun parts, led by Luna. Power Up: your kid says their Big Aim three ways (whisper, normal, champion voice), then like a coach using their own name, then today's power words (autosuggestion). Mind Movie: eyes closed, Luna guides them through doing something hard step by step, hitting a snag and pushing through. Imagination Gym: a two-minute idea sprint ("how many ways can you use a box?"), then they pick their wildest idea and make it ten times bigger. Think Big: Wish, Outcome, Obstacle, Plan (WOOP). I Am: they finish with a big, true "I am…" that comes back at Closing Circle.

Why it helps your kid

Each part is backed by research: talking to yourself by name calms nerves and boosts effort; picturing the steps (not just the win) helps people follow through; quantity of ideas leads to quality; and WOOP (a wish plus a plan for the obstacle) is one of the best-tested goal methods for kids. Belief plus a plan beats belief alone.

Where to find it

The Mind Lab block, second in the day. Your kid's ideas, WOOP and "I am" are in the day's record.

How to do it

  1. Help your kid make a Big Aim first (Me → Make my Big Aim) so Power Up uses their own words and voice.
  2. Ask at dinner: what was your wildest idea today?
  3. Their "I am" from the morning is repeated at Closing Circle.

What your kid sees

Five steps across the top, Luna's voice, a sprint timer and idea counter, and a celebration at the end.
