Spanish every day
Ten minutes a day: hear six words, say them back, a picture quiz, a tiny story.
What it is
An English-speaking kid learns Spanish (a Spanish-speaking kid learns English). Each set is six everyday words with pictures: greetings, colors, animals, family, food… The iPad listens in Spanish and checks what your kid said. Five of six right on the quiz moves to the next set.
Why it helps your kid
A little every day beats a lot once a week. Words come back as review cards so they stick.
Where to find it
The Second Language block on the kid's Today. Words learned show in the weekly report.
How to do it
- Let your kid say the words out loud; it's how they learn the sounds.
- The tiny story has a translation for you under "For the grown-up".
- Use the words at home: ask for "agua" at dinner.
What your kid sees
A big picture and the word, Luna saying it, a microphone to say it back.
